Painting in Color
Overview: Wunderman Minneapolis wanted to convert brainwaves into a real-time color readout for an event hosted by Sherwin-Williams at the 2018 AIA Conference. After reviewing the concept I knew my friends at Incite would be a perfect partner because of the work they had been doing with EEG headsets. I set up a meeting and put together a demo for the Wunderman team who ultimately selected Incite to design an experience that translated four different channels of brainwave data into the components of a color value. These color values then displayed as a growing vertical timeline, filling a 17' LED screen at two events in NYC. Using EEG headsets and generative software, the team at Incite created an experience that was immediate and immersive. After participants finished their brainwave analysis, a custom color gradient swatch was generated based on their most frequent colors and brainwave ranges as a takeaway.
